Exploring Emotion and Identity Through Contemporary Impressionism
Tradition oil painting and Contemporary Impressionism oil painting
Charlton Chen
My philosophy centers around the transformative power of art as a means of personal expression and societal reflection. I believe that art should not only captivate and inspire but also provoke thought and dialogue. Through my work, I aim to explore the intersection of emotion, identity, and environment, creating pieces that resonate with the human experience.
My artistic style is a fusion of contemporary impressionism and figurative elements, often blending bold, dynamic brushstrokes with intricate details. I am drawn to the vibrancy of color and texture, utilizing a mixed-media approach that incorporates oils and found objects to bring depth and dimension to my creations.
